Have you ever really, really wanted a thing and not got it only to find out later it wasn’t the best thing for you; that something better was coming along?
That’s may be happening to me!
A month ago, I filed an application for zoning to do weddings on our farm. This evening there was a hearing before the Bloom Township Appeals Committee. For an hour I stood at a small podium before a large wood paneled dais. Behind the dais sat give trustees. It looked very similar to the U.S. Supreme Court without the robes!
When not asked to talk, I prayed and asked that Divine Will, Divine Love and Divine Truth be expressed in the hearing. I sent blessings to each of the persons deciding the fate of the application.
The application was denied.
Worriedly, the Trustee Administrator followed me out of the room and asked her to meet her next week to begin the process of renewing the permit.
“I need to step back and refocus,” I said. “I’ll call you in a couple of days. Don’t worry. Everything happens for a reason.”
A neighbor had showed up to voice his concerns on my plans to have weddings at our farm. He left the building with me. He reassured me that he didn’t have a problem with my application.
“It’s okay. I didn’t even think about it until I realized I was late. Everything always happens for my good.”
“That’s a great attitude to have,” he replied.
So now here I am eating a late dinner, writing, asking for guidance and listening . . . listening . . . listening . . .
