Princess Luciana Pignatelli suggests in “The Beautiful People’s Beauty Book,” that baths are a good way to warm up/cool down for workouts. Apparently, the chic people of Europe, men and women, like a bath before working out, dancing, etc. They use special bath oils, like Floris brand, and also make sure the bathroom is well decorated.

Princess Pignatelli also cautions against taking too hot baths: they are debilitating and also, she feels they “make the bosom sag”. Well, nobody wants that! She also says that a European doctor, Enzo d'Angiolillio, who treats the soccer players recommends a little baking soda in the bath, not soap. Also, he says that you should not use talcum powder after the bath, as it closes the pores.

I'm one of those people who just doesn't get all that excited about baths, either. They make me feel kind of lethargic and weak, honestly (though I love heated pools).

On another note, I once read somewhere that a shower blast of freezing cold water gives one's "bosom" a lift. :)

I'm not sure if I'd want to take advice from someone named "Princess Pignatelli" though I gather from what you are writing that this is a fictional character. I also can't see myself taking a bath before exercise as baths tend to make me feel sleepy and like I want to curl up and read a good book by the fire.
