It’s two days before Christmas and I’ve been remiss in sending my Christmas wishes — or any Sunshine spirit– along to our thousands of readers. In fact, “remiss” seems to be the word of the month for me; life’s been crazy and hectic and unfortunately my writing is only one of the things falling by the wayside these days. I received a delightful typed note, a family update, from close friends this past week and realized that not only have I fallen short in keeping up with the ‘going’s on’ in the world, I’ve yet to provide updates, news, or anything — outside of yet another PML death — here in the Sunshine.
As Christmas approaches, our first in eleven years without Master Oboe, the season has taken a turn. New meanings have developed. It’s really not about the decorations this year, or cooking for the masses. It’s about relaxation and rekindling relationships while savoring some beautiful, old memories along the way.
The hubby is recuping from hernia surgery (and going stir crazy with nearly a month off of work), we’ve made an offer on a beautiful new home (contingent on the selling of our current residence, despite the fact we haven’t had a soul check it out just yet), and the new job continues on with constant challenges and excitement (still causing me to pause often to question how I make it through the days, weeks, and months as a full time professional with Multiple Sclerosis).
I’ll be spending some of the weekend reflecting back on the past year and hope to share those thoughts with all of you. For now, I wish you all safe and happy holidays (whatever holiday you may celebrate during this season), lots of good health, patience and kindness in your hearts and most importantly Sunshine-filled spirits (whether alcoholic in nature or not).
Buon Natale!
