i just finished rereading this post.
i’m sure it’s just a coincidence that i posted it on january 20 last year, but the sigificance and emotions are positively intertwined. the promise of the future was palpable then, and it has been magnified today.
it has been a year since i took my US citizenship oath,
i am looking back with sincere gratitude.
it was the very first time i exercised my right to vote, as a citizen.
i am looking forward with fervent hope.
also, i assume full responsibility.
to do what i can, not only to assure progress for myself,
but progress for this country.
to america and all americans, who embraced me and my family,
and introduced us to a life of endless possibilities.
here’s my heartfelt word of thanks.
after witnessing the beginning of a new era,
it is my hope that this historic event
will be our source of constant inspiration
not only to be a passive spectator,
but an active part of the vision and reality of change.
