Hello there my friends, this post does include the letter C. I thought of many things to start with the letter C....like Chicken...but you have seen her so much, that if you need a chicken fix I am sure you can scroll down or wait a couple of days....Chicken likes the camera! But my C post will be for Cotton. I love Cotton sock yarn. This particular sock yarn came from Germany. It was so colorful and I just ate it right up. The only bad thing about the cotton was that there wasn't enough for the socks, so the toes are actually made out of DMC Senso Cotton yarn, which is a bit stiffer, but okay. I made the first sock eons ago, when I first got the sock craze, the second one didn't come about until last month. The only problem with knitting them years apart is that my gauge is a bit different. I now knit tighter and so the second sock(the one with the smaller pink toe) fits perfect everywhere, while the first sock is a bit loose, but loose is okay, it seems to stay up and not slouch....but it does move a bit. Of course since it is winter in Ohio I have another pair of socks under these ones. Cotton is great also because it doesn't make me itch. I have a terrible time with wool sometimes....mostly because of what people stick with it. Somedays I can touch wool and it is fine, others itch me terribly! I love alpaca and hope to make a pair of alpaca socks....I am not sure how that will turn out though as I hear alpaca doesn't have a memory and I don't want stretched out socks. Hmmmm.....

This past week or so has been crazy. First my sinus infection from hades was absolutely the worse I have felt in a long time. And to top it off I ended up getting my *friend* who arrived early just to hang out with me when I was sick. Gosh I just *love* her. (grumble, grumble) Just as I was starting to feel better Giggles ended up getting a concussion at her last basketball game. Right before the halftime buzzer a team mate went to shoot the ball from half court, didnt' make it, but Giggles's other team mate grabbed at the ball, so the ball and her team mate's elbow hit her in the head. She swooned but didn't fall down or pass out. The next day we took her to the peds and they confirmed the mild concussion. No tournament play for Giggles, she wasn't too upset, but was mad at the tournament when I wouldn't let her shoot from the free throw line during warm up.
She got sent home on Tuesday with dizziness and headache. We called the ped, he told us to go to the ER, the only problem being we have Kaiser. I love Kaiser, but....we had to go to their ER which was 20 min away. If I walk down the block (12 houses) I can see the closest ER to us....8 blocks away~small city blocks really small~ But I digress.....it wouldn't be bad, but NE Ohio was getting a nasty storm and the roads were icky. It took us about an hour to make the 20 min trip. We sat in the ER and I knit on hubby's afgan (pics coming as soon as it is done...which should be soon) She got a CAT scan. They had the neuro. look at it and said all was okay. "It'll take some time to heal, so unless she gets worse, she'll be fine" I know!!
Then we came home Giggles got mad because I wouldn't let her and Chicken watch a movie while eating dinner. A dinner that I made and sliced my finger on some dried up salsa on the jar....ugh, why don't kids and hubbies clean off the jar mouth? I was just getting my plate together to sit at the table and was saying "no Giggles you can't watch a movie, you still have homework and we are eating at the table" (this is something we do often, not just on occassion) Then I hear CRASH! She tossed the remote onto the couch, from the room away. It bouces off the couch hits the window and breaks our precious 86 year old windows. (Did I mention Hubby isn't home...he is away on business this week!!!) So i call Mom's BF and ask how to fix the window temporarily...he tells me to tape a box to it....I did. I call hubby. His first words....."Is the remote okay?" The remote?!!?!?! You have got to be kidding me. He was okay about the window, had me put batting on the window as well to insulate it (thankfully the storm window wasn't broken) Then said he and Giggles will fix it when he gets home next week.
Well, I need to run. I have to set up for a photo shoot tomorrow, and I am still in my PJ's. I promise to visit here more often with lots of photos. And if I have promised you something in the mail its coming....later today....as I haven't gotten there yet. I am sure you understand why!
Toodles!
