Your Monday Photo Shoot: 2003
You may or may not know that today marks the fourth anniversary of By The Way, which was started on this date in 2003 ( here’s the first entry ). To celebrate, I thought it would be fun to have a historical-themed Photo Shoot:
Your Monday Photo Shoot: Find a picture from 2003 and post it. Any picture is fine; it just has to be from the now-oh-so-distant year of two thousand aught-three. Surely you have pictures from then? Yes?
Well, Happy Anniversary Blogfather!
2003 was an AMAZING YEAR for us here under the Big Top.
Daniel celebrated his 1st birthday which is always a big milestone for any person but even bigger for him given onthe night he was bornhe had less than 10% chance for surviving.
Can I hear a whoo-hoo?
2003 markedDaniel’s adoption being finalizedtoo. OMG, what a day that was for the whole family.
2003 was the year Bill and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. We were supposed to go toEngland to celebrate in our family’s ancestral town and at the ancestral castlebut we chose to add the final clown to our family circus. Good choice as the castle has been here for over 500 years and odds are it will be there when we do go…it, after all, survived Hitler’s bombs.
2003 was also a big year because we became homeowners for the very first time that year. Like some young couples, we made poor choices wanting the material things our parents had after years of hard work. It only took us two decades together to realize that we had to work hard and sacrifice just as much as they did.
DOH!
Kids, are you reading this entry on Mommy~Dearest’s blog???
What an amazing feeling it was to sign those papers stating we owned that home we built. Even Daniel joined in on our celebration. He was with us when we signed all those papers and got that house key and although he was only 15 months old/11 months adjusted age, he picked up on our jubilation.

Here he is celebrating after rolling all over the first floor while we did the final walk through of what became the Big Top.
Can you believe he is in kindergarten now?
I have to admit that 2003 was an amazing, memorable year for us. It’s fun to look back but I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this circus act of mine.
