It's been on my to-do list for some time. But I am the ultimate procrastinator. Why do now what I can do later, right? But, I had put it off for too long. It was time to just do it.
Not that the task was even a chore. Oh, no, not even close. The task at hand was a good one. A fun one. It was even blog-worthy! So, why put it off? Well, sometimes life happens, sometimes being sleepy happens, and sometimes just not wanting to talk on the phone happens. In my case, all three of those happenings apply, as does this one, I was just plain nervous. Nervous like a school girl. And trust me when I say my belly flip-flopped when I finally did pick up the phone to make the call on Saturday. I can't for the life of me, explain why I was so damned nervous, but I really was.
But, when she answered, the butterflies went away. Afterall, I knew her already. I had already spoken with her a thousand times. At least, it felt that way. I had already seen glimpses of
her life ,
met her family , seen her
favorite things , and even briefly heard
her voice .
Despite how nice it is to befriend someone in the realm of the blogosphere, it is even nicer when you can make the cross over to real life. And
Karen is now a part of my real life. How cool is that! Jealous? You should be, because she's awesome.
It's nice to know that those times when I really need to talk to someone about my day that she is on my list of peeps I can call. That if I'm bored at work, I can send her a text message. That I can actually be on the phone with her, while drinking and blog hopping on the weekend...how friggin' fun will that be!!
I love that I have met
Karen and so many wonderful people in the blogosphere. I would love to bring every single one of you into the realm that is LunaNik's real life...and I fully intend to do so...tomorrow...or, the next day...or the day after that ;)
