Simpler life.

Posted May 13 2009 10:36pm

As I sit here at 8:15am I’m sort of in a daze. We woke up between 5-5:15am to drop “The Hubby” off at the airport and he will be gone until Saturday afternoon. With the kids fed, teeth brushed and “N’s” lunch made I realize how simple I am living life. If only I had done this sooner I would be almost a millionaire (really we would be). Up until recently we have been a consuming family, wanted this so we bought it, wanted to eat out so we did. I spent five minutes staring into my pantry thinking about what to make “N” for lunch since my goal is to have it cleaned out before I buy more stuff. Luckily when we moved I looked at dates and got rid of a lot but there was still a lot there, now, not so much and it feels good.

With “The Hubby” gone it’s sort of nice because I eat a lot less and spend less money (no extra dinners after the kids go to bed) plus I go to bed a lot earlier. Sometimes I look forward to him leaving and sometimes not. Right at this point in time though I am very frustrated because the kids are being extra loud and obnoxious probably has something to do with them being woke up 5:30am and you know what that’s like. Man I can’t wait for it to be school time. Anyway. I like this simple, not overly consuming life. I am more aware of things like time. I watch the clock so I know when I can use electricity. When I do shop I take my own bags, I recycle everything I can and have become the Recycle Nazi. I almost have “The Hubby” talked into getting the worm composter, I mean I only have two bags of garbage a week but we still do waste some food and it would be nice to not have it go into the garbage or down the disposal.

I have to drop “N” off at school but I will finish this today.
