Trick o Treat was limited to Trunk or Treat at church this year and the wee ones were pleased as punch. P1 & P2 had carefully selected their costumes of choice (P1 had a small costume change from Fairy Princess to Ballerina at the last minute) and while Mom chose P3's, everyone was happy. As to not leave P3 out, Grammie had special ordered P3 her own Pumpkin for her loot. Thank you Grammie and thank you Lillian Vernon!
Grammie joined us for the T-r-T and a sufficient sugar high was achieved in no time! All in all, everyone considered it a sucess.

**~~Small Soapbox Moment~~** There were two Wards (congregations) involved this year in T-r-T and it was held at our current chapel's parking lot. We have attended T-r-T in McKinney for the past several years and it has been slick. You go, you park, your kids walk the parking lot. You hand out candy. Your kids make a haul. You run out of candy. You leave. End of story. Piece of cake.
Not this year. Oh no. It had to be (insert facial expression from Rosie O'Donnell in Sleepless in Seatle when she says 'Waul-ter'.) ORGANIZED. Now I love organization as much as the next person and often more than most. But come on. THIS was T-r-T. FOR CHILDREN. It was -

I need more men to help and can someone figure out how to override the time for the parking lot lights to come on?(You want to organize then plan that part BEFORE).
Your Big kids can go in the bounce house now but make them line up and only go thru once (Yeah, like I want my girls in the bounce house in their costumes).
The advertised time for the event was 7-8pm, clear as day. It was late for my kids (especially when you add a 30min+ commute) but hey, it was Halloween, right?
7 comes and no sign of starting. 7:30 comes and she wants to WAIT another 5 minutes to allow the people who are having traffic issues to make it (yeah, like 5 minutes is gonna help traffic problems) and is that alright with everyone?
Hey, she asked. NO! It is getting very late for small kids and dangit, IT IS JUST A KIDS TRUNK OR TREAT ACTIVITY!!!!! Of course, when I mentioned that to her, well, it was someone elses fault.
Got news for ya babe. You wanna ORGANIZE and be IN CHARGE, then you get to take the rap too.
