Pink eye usually refers to a reddening of the white parts of the eyeball and the conjunctiva, which line the inner surface of the eyelids. In dogs, this can happen as a result of an infection (viral, bacterial), allergies, the presence of a foreign body, trauma, or from a chemical irritant that has blown into the eye.
Since there are so many possible causes for this redness (conjunctivitis), the treatment would vary depending on the cause. You should be careful not to put anything into your dog's eyes without checking with your veterinarian.
