Posted by anniecancan

My cat, who is 11yrs old has developed a red mark in one eye over the last week. He is an all white cat with green eyes, in good health abet a bit overweight.

Is the red mark on the front surface of the eye...the cornea?  Or, is it on the white part of the eye?  If it's on the cornea, it probably arose as a result of a scratch or puncture to the cornea.  This requires fairly immediate attention.  If it's on the white of the eye, it still could be a result of trauma or could be some type of hemorrhage.

Any of these considerations should be looked at by your veterinarian.
