So Addie turned 8 months old yesterday...8 MONTHS! It really, truly, does not feel like it's been that long. What I'm so amazed by is how much EASIER life has become in these past few months. We're so in the groove, me and Addie. Those early days are like a distant memory, and now I understand why people have more kids : ) You sort of forget how hard it was - or at least the memory gets pretty dulled.
Now we have a great routine. She's still a super early riser, generally around 5 am, but she wakes up happy every morning. We do our morning routine, which entails Mommy making coffee while Addie plays with Cheerios in her high chair and *chats* with Daddy while he gets ready for work, and then it's bottle and play time. About 7am she goes back down for her first nap and is usually out for about an hour and a half. This is normally when I run around doing things like showering, making bottles, making food for the day, folding laundry, making the bed, updating the blog...or just watching the episode of LOST I pvr'd from the night before (like I did this morning!) Then it's up for breakfast and more play time. She's loving her Cheerios right now, and we just introduced shredded cheese yesterday. She had a great time trying to pick it up and get it in her mouth - most of it ended up in Quincy's mouth and on her face, but she had fun trying. She'll usually have another nap around 11am for about 45 minutes and occasionally over an hour if I'm lucky. After that we're often outside - walking Quincy, strolling along Bloor Street, running errands, having coffee with our friends Amy & Alex...keeping busy. She goes to bed around 6pm now, and is really easy to put down. Usually only a few minutes of protest crying and then she's out until the next morning. Life is good!
Speaking of Addie...she's just up now from her first nap - I can hear her singing in her crib - so I'd better run and get the day started.
Hope you're all doing well!
