Connor's Story

Posted Jun 16 2009 7:53pm
Welcome to the Graf Family Connor James
Last week Tuesday our little bundle of joy rocketed into the world! I'm thankful for the induction as I doubt we would have made it to the hospital in time if I had went into labor on my own! About 8am my doctor inserted some gel to get my contractions going and they definitely got going, but were somewhat sporadic. About 9am my doctor broke my water and things really got going after that. An hour afterward my hero, the epidural man, saved me. At about 11 my doctor checked in and I was only at a 4. I had a lot of pain in this one tiny spot so I rolled from my right side to my left side and the nurse gave me a little extra epidural stuff and within about 10 minutes I went from 4cms to the nurse calling to get the doctor in from surgery to deliver the baby I was supposed to not be pushing out! I didn't even have to push once and at 11:46am Connor James was born, weighing 8 pounds 8.8 ounces and was 21 inches long. He is healthy and doing wonderful - even letting me sleep quite a bit for a newborn!

Ella was a little less then thrilled to have another brother. If you check out FlickR all the first pictures she's quite hesitant to even look at him. Now she can't get enough of him. Brennan is the same. The older two have been spending time back in Rapids by the grandparents, but will be back home tomorrow. I miss my babies and am excited to have all the kids together, even though I know it's going to be quite a bit of work!
