I am a month late on my period, but not pregnant. Why?

Posted by gringamanda

I am hoping I am pregnant, but after 4 negative tests I am beginning to wonder what else could be making me so late. My husband and I have been trying off and on to conceive. We don't have any kids yet. I am not stressed, I havent made any changes in life, work, or anything else. Any ideas of why else I could be late?? I don't have any pregnancy symptoms that I can think of. I am ussually the first week of every month. I am 27yrs old, healthy.

Thanks for any advice :)

Are you tracking your cycle in any way? Do you know when you ovulate? How was your intercourse timing during your fertile window?

I haven't been keeping track of when I ovulate. But we also haven't been using any protection of any kind. I just know that I have my period the first week every month like clockwork. My sister and I have the same schedule, so it's easy to keep track

I am going to suggest that you start tracking your cycles- to know if and when you ovulate.

This will help you know when you are really "late" or if there has been a delayed ovulation or even no ovulation at all.

A woman's fertile window is only five days: the three days before, day of and day after ovulation.  Knowing the window and when it is about to happen will  help you time your intercourse and increase your chance at conception.

It is important to note that a perfectly healthy couple with no known fertility issues and perfect intercourse timing  only have, at best, a 25% chance of conception per cycle.

It is also important to note that while a woman's fertility sharply declines after age 35, it starts to gradually decline around age 26.  During this time your cycles are going to change (or maybe not).  This is another reason why you should track your cycles.

Okay, thanks for all your help
