It's been a whole week...

Posted Apr 23 2009 5:26pm
since I last posted. Wow. I don't think I've gone that long without a post maybe ever. I'm finding that at this stage of the game there's less to blog about - while Addie is I'm sure changing ever so slightly every day, she isn't whipping through the stages like she was before. I think this is normal - now we're waiting for the *biggies*: crawling (she's still "crawling" army style and can go forward a little bit now on all fours - but not quite crawling per se ), walking, and talking. And those things don't typically happen until we get closer to that year mark. So we wait : )

So what is happening? Well, I'm still working on the daycare thing (thanks to everyone for all the great suggestions and advice!) and I have now *accepted* that it's a messed up system and I just have to play the game. So it means a lot of calls into the places where we're on lists over the next few months, and basically harassing them until we get in. That's my plan. We'll see how it works.

Addie's diet is also continually expanding - we're now onto shredded cheese, yogurt (which she loves) and I'm going to introduce some fish and tofu next week. I'm also going to start adding in finger foods soon - cubes of cheese, meat, and fruit for her to gum to death! She continues to love, love, love Chee. rios, and I love them too because they give me a few minutes of uninterrupted time.

She continues to be pretty mobile with her army-style crawling, and has started to do this downward dog type of position, where she sticks her bum in the air in an inverted V position. I'm not sure when she'll crawl, and am starting to wonder if she'll just go right from this army crawling to walking. She's pretty efficient with her current style and can move FAST. Quincy's toys continue to be her motivation to move from one side of the room to the other in a split second - mommy needs to watch her VERY closely these days : )

In other news, I'm totally finished BF which feels good. I'm happy I made it to 8 months, and am glad I was able to do that for Addie...and I'm glad to have my body back. Now we're blowing through the BM Jenna pumped so diligently for us so we'll definitely need to supplement with some formula. So my question for those of you who have used formula is what brand worked best for you, or what brand did your kids like best?

Have a great weekend everyone!
