Praise Reports!

Posted Apr 23 2009 5:25pm
Yesterday afternoon, two days after my initial interview, I got a call that they want to bring me in for a second interview. Given the fact that they gave me a time line of weeks, I am very excited to have heard back in days. I'm also nervous as it is a skills-based interview. The organization is a health policy advocacy organization; they analyze problems in the health care industry and offer recommendations that they pass on to policy makers and constituents. So for my interview, I have an issue that I have to research write a mini report on and give a mini presentation complete with my recommendations.

They are testing a skill set that I definitely have, and I generally have an opinion about how to fix these types of issues. But the topic they chose is slightly unfamiliar to me, particularly on the local level. I'm more familiar with a related issue on the national level, but I'm not sure those solutions would apply here. Also, the interview is on Tuesday afternoon; with family obligations tomorrow and graduation on Sunday, the turnaround is a bit sooner than I would like. Not that it really matters, but I also wish I knew how many candidates they were considering for the position. I'm really excited about the job, though, so I'll work to find some good hours to dedicate to the project and hopefully I'll come up with something amazing.

In the spirit of good news, this morning, on cd11, we went in for an ultrasound to check follicles and uterus lining. The right side is silent, but I have two follicles growing in the left side: 14mm and 18mm. She thinks that they will both release a mature egg. The uterine lining was at 6mm which Dr. Pregnant is okay with. According to Dr. Google, ideal is 8-13 and anything below 6 is insufficient. Since the lining should continue to thicken until ovulation, I feel pretty good about it.

As far as the IUI, I don't know if it's going to happen. Since I've never had a problem with ovulating on my own, we are timing the IUI based on my surge rather than by trigger. I'm fine with this since tracking my cycle has never been a problem. But they are predicting a surge in the next 1-3 days which would put the IUI on Sat, Sun, or Mon. I have family obligations tomorrow morning (oops!), so I don't know if I would do the IUI and Sunday is graduation. I could do the procedure and make it to my graduation, but I would miss my sister's main commencement. I would still make her departmental where she will march by name, but I think it's kind-of wrong not to be there for her all day. So Sunday is probably out as well. Please pray that I surge Sunday and we can do the IUI on Monday.
