What does early 'egg white' cervical mucous mean?

 My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and I have noticed that I was not having cervical mucus. I started to take primrose oil and a week before ovulation was due started the daily mucinex trick. Exactly 9 days after my period I noticed a large amount of the 'egg white' cervical mucous. What could that be from? I am also using an ovulation test and was definitely not ovulating then.
