Prenatal Yoga. Well, I'm sure that the range of postures one can do while pregnant is a little more limited, but I've heard that prenatal yoga is a wonderful tool for expecting mothers. It promotes deep relaxation through breathing techniques, and it helps to relieve the strain and tension on a woman's lower back and other achey body parts. I know a lot of women who've done yoga while pregnant and they swear by it--they say, in fact, th at it helped them through their labors and even cut down the amount of pain, compared to previous childbirth experiences.
I did yoga under an instructor when I was pregnant for the first time.. And I felt it helped me with easy labor. So doing yoga during pregnancy is a good idea.
wanna try it!. I'm gathering up my knowledge and adding to my yoga music collection with lots of time before the next labour/birth. I really want to get through this one naturally and now that I do yoga, I am hoping it will really help. It is so relaxing and the breathing techniques must be beneficial to the labouring woman. I plan to take some prenatal yoga classes once I'm pregnant and learn as much as I can. Yoga has made a big impact in my life so far, as far as learning to relax and feeling confident and balanced go, so I want to see if it makes a big difference during labour or not. I did yoga with my first pregnancy but not as seriously as I do now (I was just starting out, using DVDs, TV, or videos) so I'm eager to put my stockpiled knowledge to use!
Great for Labor!. Most of my friends who did lots of yoga during pregnancy had lovely births. Yoga not only gets the body moving and stretches the appropriate places, it menatlly prepares the body for labor my focusing the mind and calming the body.

We have to be clear on this. It is not yoga that heals. It is appropriate yoga that heals. Some yoga is absolutely harmful to certain practitioners. There is no broad-brush answer.

Similarly, a mindful yoga practice aligning itself with the energetics of fertility, conception, and pregnancy are supportive. A practice that disregards such things would not be.
