Ah I feel like a new day today. I feel the stresses of the past days lifting off my shoulders and I can breathe! What a relief. It's been a bit of a turmoil in my life and with the beautiful sun shining in the window this morning, well it simply feels like a whole new day!!!
Yesterday I drank:
12 oz water as soon as I woke up
4 oz of orange juice/water with 1T of MSM
another 4 oz of water to chase the MSM down LOL
36 oz of watermelon juice (what was I thinking? OMGosh this was too much at once)
30 oz of Jungle Juice (that's all my greens for the day - 1/2 bunch of celery, 1 cucumber, 1 bunch of kale, some fennel, parsley and 3 collard greens)
20 oz of watermelon/strawberry juice
36 oz of water
Today will be similar. It's what I'll be doing most days although my fruit juices will change. I'm on the last bit of watermelon this morning so I'll go to the market and get something else for my dinner juice. I'm watching my candida level closely. I'm very connected to my body so I'll know if I'm doing too many juices. I'm following the advice from Jeremy Safron "The Fasting handbook - Dining from an Empty Bowl". He suggests you start and end your day with fruit juices and do your green juice in the middle of the day. I find this is what my body craves, so I'm going to follow it until my body tells me otherwise.
I make sure I drink 1 head of celery a day, plus 1 cucumber. This is to keep my blood happy! Celery is a natural way to take in sodium, which our bodies need and assists with rebuilding your blood cells and cucumber is great for cleansing our kidneys, lower your blood pressure and cleanse your skin.
Here are two quotes from a poster on a raw forum. Her name is Eve and she's such an inspiration to me:
The best thing I have learned though, is that the difficulty is TEMPORARY. So often when we are struggling with a temptation the LIE that is in our heads goes like this, "This temptation will only get worse and worse unless/until I give in to it. So I pretty much have to." Not true! On a scale of one to ten, you might very well be battling a 9 or 10 temptation, and in five minutes it will be one or two. Soon you'll be in your right mind again, and so thankful you didn't give in! I've experienced this time and again, and remembering it really helps to get through those tough moments.
Your last question is kind of funny though, because I *don't* keep it fresh and yummy. The focus is almost entirely off the palate at this point. I drink mainly green juices, and rotate my greens like crazy, but even then it usually tastes exactly the same to me. But after awhile, it's like your taste buds just go into hibernation or something. There is really not this constant drive to please or amuse them anymore. I liken it to being hooked up to a feeding tube or something - you are being perfectly sustained, afterall. I do drink fruit juices in small amounts twice a day (maybe two cups, total), but even those, which I logically know taste good, have ceased to really please me. I don't crave them, I just drink them because I know they are good for me.
I hope her words inspire you as much as they have me! Honestly these two posts from her... have made such a difference to the way I have approached this feast. I hear her speaking to me... when I need her most. Thank you Eve! (((hugs)))
Have a HAPPY JOY FILLED day!!!
