Day Three - Giving a Damn!!!

Posted May 22 2009 11:44pm

There comes a time in everyone's life... and often much more than once, that we have to set aside our needs for someone elses. I have such a time happening in my life right now. A dear dear friend... my best friend, my sista, my raw coach, one of my main support people has been going through a terrible time.

I posted this on some of the forums that Melissa and I frequent... hoping that perhaps some kind-hearted souls can join me in assisting this little family of three during a time when their chips are down.

Hi Everyone,

I am writing to you all today to bring a situation into the light. One which needs to be seen by us all.

Melissa and her family have gone through a very hard time lately. After being stalked for months, her stalker coming into her home robbing them... taking everything worth value and leaving very little behind... her Hippie made the decision that he had to move his family as quickly as possible.

Giving up his business and moving them states away (for their safety) they began an adventure into poverty like none they've ever experienced before. Hippie was not able to find work, when he finally did 15 hours a week max is all he could get. He had to take it.

She sends out his resume to every job they can find available... but no one wants someone with his experience... so they wait, on the will of heaven.

I ask... for all of us to come together. Our friend is in need.

We send them whatever we can spare every payday. I urge you, if you can spare $20... send it their way. If you can spare more... thank you.

They are on the verge of becoming homeless. I won't let that happen. I'll remortgage my home if I need to. I won't let this happen. I hope we can all come together to assist them.

If you wonder how she's online... a neighbour in her new state heard about their experiences and brought over a computer... gifted it to them. He didn't even know them... just knew there was a need and stepped up to fill it. This brings tears to my eyes when I think about it... the kindness of strangers.

Here's her paypal account: loverawlife@gmail.com

I thank you all for listening.

I am so saddened though. One of the members of a forum (which will remain nameless) has gone on the attack. Stating that everyone is in need and "we all just need to sit tight and weather the storm". Melissa is about to be homeless. This isn't something that we can all just 'sit tight' about. We need to act! We need to come together as human beings and dig into our pockets and help her. I've been sending her all I can afford and will continue to do so... I'm sending more tonight as a matter of fact. This is what friends do! This is what people do! This is what humanity is all about (in my world at least)... we come together when someone needs us. Whether it's a death in the family, an illness, an accident, loss of job... a tear in need of a shoulder to fall upon - doesn't matter what it is... in my life, my world, my reality - if there's a need I try my very best to make a difference.

After all, what's the point of talking the talk if you aren't willing to walk the walk?

Everyone who knows me, knows I'm a loving, caring woman... not only by my words, but by my actions! Let us all remember that.. our actions speak so much louder than our words ever could. A simple smile can brighten someone's day... a simple smile. ;~)

Okay my rant is done. I'm having a good day feasting...

12 oz water first thing in the morning.
4 oz orange juice/water with 1T MSM
4 oz water chaser to get down the MSM *giggling*

Drank many 12 oz glasses of water today.

30 oz of watermelon juice with 4 strawberries - yummmmy
30 oz of jungle juice (celery, parsley, cucumber, bunch of kale, fennel)
30 oz of watermelon juice with 4 strawberries.
