I think you have to really like durian…. I might eat it again at some point, but, not that I hate it or anything, but I don’t see any point in going out of my way for it soon….
Durian has, according to me, a curious taste. It isn’t necessarily bad, per se, but it is curious. My first reaction was onions. I read another reviewer, who said it tastes to her like garlic and bananas. Okay… I could go there. It is strange.
I froze the durian that my student gave me, and, last night, I made DURIAN ICE CREAM with my Champion juicer.
I just broke up the durian into chunks that would fit through the feed tube of the juicer, and then fed them through.
So easy.
Only problem was my kitchen smelled like durian.
