Bio

My name is Robinsue Rayne Mazur. I prefer Rayne, but, you can call me Robin, too. I'm happy with either one. I am a displaced Connecticut Yankee currently residing in the Midwest and yearning for the west coast. I am a voracious reader, an eclectic writer and an enthusiastic artist who dabbles in many different mediums. I like photography, urban exploring, biking, hiking and collecting pet rats. I am an Adult Autistic. There is not a lot of information or assistance for adult autistics. We are pretty much left to our own devices. The general feeling in the medical community is that if we've made it this far we're okay, and there is not a lot that can be done for you at this point. We are offered medication for anxiety and a therapist to listen to our bouts of anger, over-whelming emotions, closing off, babbling, desperation to be part of society while at the same time isolating ourselves from it. I have been approached by parents of autistic children and children with asperger's and asked questions like, "Do you love?", "Can you live on your own?" and "What can I expect when my child gets older?" I am hoping that in some way I can be a voice, or help in some way for others to understand us. I am one of the lucky ones. Put a pen in my hand or put me in front of a key board and I can be quite vocal. I can express thoughts calmly and usually clearly in a way that I can't face to face. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
