Ok, I have been in a relationship since just after Christmas. We dated for a few months kind of long distance (we lived 3 hours apart) and were together whenever we had days off. When he was off, he was at my place; when I was off, I was at his place. I am eight years older than he is, but that isn't an issue for either of us. He prefers older women. He was very affectionate when we were in the early dating stages, both in private and in public. At his insistence, and after much deliberation, I moved in with him and changed jobs. Now four months later, the affection is all but gone. I am trying to be patient because he works shift work, but I have needs that are not being met on an emotional level. Whenever I bring the issue up he gets angry and frustrated and shuts down emotionally. He is also very territorial; in other words I constantly hear about "my stuff" cluttering up the place. I am feeling really displaced and very lonely at this point. About 90% of my "stuff" is in storage, all I have here is clothes and FIVE pairs of my shoes! What woman do you know that lives happily with FIVE pairs of shoes?! Is it time to move on? I care deeply for this man, I had hoped that there might be a future for us, but at this point I just spend my evenings in tears and lonely. I know that I could find companionship elsewhere, other men have given me their number and approached me. I have tossed their numbers and told them that I am in a relationship. I am not a cheater. Am I wasting my time here? Is there something I can do to wake this man up? Help!
