I think I strained a muscle. I need help to know what to do to get better and prevent further injury.

I run daily. I have been running for about 2 months. I ran a long run last tues and by the time is was over my left calf muscle felt very strained from all the activity. I stopped and did a long stretch and that helped make it feel better. I ran everyday following until today. Yesterday though, I began to feel the strain in my calf again. It was bothersome but bearable and once I got passed 20 minutes or so I didn't really feel it. So, I decided to jog through it slowing down when needed. Stretched out afterward and it was pretty much the same. When I started running today the pain was very apparent in my lower calf, inside of my ankle and foot. I could have ran through it,but I decided to stop. The pain was almost entirely in my inner left ankle. Almost into the inside of the foot. Also in my lower calf muscle. I have never strained a muscle before. I'm not really sure what the difference between a sprain and a strain is, but the muscle feels pulled and strained almost like it's stretched out to much. Can I keep running? What should I do to keep this from happening again? And what is this caused by?Is it the way I am landing or is there more to it? What can I do to heel it?
