Keep ‘em clean. Keep your bindings clean at all times, dirt may corrode the bindings and cause them to malfunction.
Oil coating. During the summer, use a light coating of oil on the edges to prevent your skis from rusting.
Parabolics. New skis tend to have fatter ends and a skinner middle, giving them a parabolic shape that makes it easier to balance and turn.
Straight to shaped. If you've been skiing on straight skis, you may want to switch to shaped skis, which are far easier to turn and steer.
The right skis. Use a pair of skis that matches the terrain and conditions that you're skiing in. Skis vary in flex, material, shape and size.
Watch the glare. Wear sunscreen. The glare from the snow can double the impact of the sun.
Waterproof. Make sure your ski gear is waterproof. Look for fabric that is also wind-resistant.
Wear a hat. 60% of heat loss occurs through your head. Wear a headband, hat or helmet to keep warm.
Wear a helmet. These days, most skiiers wear a helmet. It definitely won't hurt you to have one on.
Wear layers. Dress in layers so you can accommodate changes in temperature throughout the day.
Wipe ‘em down. Wipe your skis down after skiing.
