Intelligent Nutrients: Not For My Hair

Posted Jun 13 2009 12:05am

I'm so disappointed with the new hair and body range, Intelligent Nutrients. I've just washed and conditioned my hair with it, and ended up half way through blow drying having to go and wash and condition it again with my regular brand, Ojon. Not only did my hair not feel clean, but it looked so dull. I hate washing my hair so to have to do it twice was double punishment. The theory behind Intelligent Nutrients is completely sound; it's been developed by Horst Rechelbacher who previously had developed Aveda and uses groundbreaking ingredient combinations, without using chemicals. Using a combination of food science and chemistry it is a range that offers safety and nutrition without parallel. But if it doesn't do the job, I don't quite see the point. The lack of sodium laureth sulphate means there is no foaming with the shampoo, or very little. But, I was prepared for that, but even so, I still ended up using far more than I probably needed to just to reassure myself that it was cleaning. I totally get the theory that what we put on our bodies ends up in our bodies to a greater or lesser degree, but I don't think anyone died of shiny hair. I think the good thing that will come out of this range is an enforced openess about organics and ingredients in general and that can only be a good thing if consumers can make more educated choices. I really wanted to love this brand, but it just didn't do it for my hair. (I did however, like the body wash and the lip balm, and when the skin care ranges comes over here, I do want to try it.)
