Je t'aime Cinq Mondes

Posted Sep 24 2009 10:51pm

On a spa tour yesterday (Sofitel SoSPA in St James - AMAZING (and I hate spas!) place), I came across a skin care brand that I think is completely new to the UK. Cinq Mondes was developed by Jean-Louis Poiroux, who, along with his wife, spent 10 years travelling the world, picking out traditional therapies, adapting them and turning the products into a global brand. Much respect. I met him - he is lovely; natural and unpretentious, and so enthusiastic about his products. Anyway, Cinq Mondes does without silicone, mineral oil, animal based ingredients and artificial colourings but has no 'worthy' undertones like some natural-based brands and makes no bones about using cutting edge cosmetology to develop luxurious and effective skin care. Its impossible to talk about the whole range - its huge - but things I liked straight away were Balinese inspired Lait de Fleurs cleanser, the facial Elixirs with roots in traditions from China, Japan, Egypt, Syria and Indonesia to name but a few. It is a very premium range - I don't even know what the products cost but I'm guessing they are pricy - the look, the formula textures, the packaging - everything screams PREMIUM! The Cinq Mondes Spa received the highest mark ever last year in the Leading Spas of the World ranking...97/100, easily an A*. Currently, it's only available at the Sofitel SoSPA but moves are afoot to make it more widely available.
