Could my ulcers be Herpes or is there another possibility?

I have a mouth ulcer that is recurrent. There's only one. It flattens on the inside of my cheek and goes away just to immediately reform the next day.
In addition to this, I also have what I believe to be tiny ulcers on the inside of my thigh. There's usually only one. They don't appear anywhere else, but my boyfriend also has a couple near his bellybutton. We've been together for ten months and they've just appeared for the both of us about two months ago.
Could it be Herpes or is there another possible reason?
