Self-Hypnosis and Your Sleep

Posted Jul 01 2008 4:11pm

You can try self-hypnosis audio programs on a tape or CD that have soothing, reassuring and positive messages to help you relax so you can get to sleep. There are also programs that can be used for everything from losing weight, quitting smoking to long distance mind control of sea bass.

Some programs can be found for free on the internet, but their quality is often pretty low. They are usually given away or sold very cheaply in order to get your email address so they can either bombard you with offers of other junk they have for sale or they’ll sell your email address eight billion times.

You can find programs at online book sellers like Amazon, or you can visit your local bookstore. Check out your local library while you’re at it. They often have a good selection or can order one for you.

You can also see someone trained in hypnotherapy. Call several to get their rates and any guarantee they may offer. The session I had from a guy whose ad I saw on the back of a match book cover didn’t seem to help. Every time I drive past a field of cows I still have the urge to roll down the window and go “moo”.
