Hello kpreville!
First of all, thank you for taking an interest in your health. It is always good to get to the lowest common denominator. The first thing you should do, is contact a physician. Secondly, can you think of anything that you have done to cause this, i.e. blunt force trauma, straining during exercise, or even a genetic pre-disposition? It sounds to me as though you have torn a ligament, and the left side of your body is trying to compensate by limiting your range of motion--this might explain why it hurts to bend in that direction. The best advice I can give you is to go to the doctor immediately. Let me know how it turns out. Thanks.

I have a burning pain to my right hip that feels like a stretched something (nerve/tendon?) that leaves the area numb. if I lean to the left it's a shooting burning ripping kind of pain. Touching the area feels numb but a certain spot at very top of hip bone is tender to touch causing shooting pain when hardly pressing. Just felt it for the 1st time this morning. Felt a twinge on the right site, tried stretching it out by bending left and WOW!! shooting pain then numbness. Can walk fine. Don't feel anything unless press that area or bend to the left. What is it. I'm fairly fit. Never have any problems. This is a 1st.
