We hardly need one more study to tell us to take care of ourselves and get out there and walk! It’s spring! Get out there and walk!
Grab you friends, pet, or just you and your trusty walking shoes and quiet mind and walk for the health of your bones.
Okay, here’s one more study!
In a study conducted on bone loss, women who walked briskly enough to become winded for five days a week, for over 15 weeks were found to have a .4% INCREASE in bone mineral density whereas women who did not suffered from 1% density LOSS.
The theory is that intense exercise triggers greater secretion of hormones that may increase bone mineralization.
