Sleep More to Lose Weight

Posted by Mary Ann P.

A study done at Eastern Virginia Medical Scholl has shown that thin people get two more hours of sleep per week than overweight people. That's only 17 more minutes per day. The theory is that poor sleep causes lower leptin levels. Leptin is an appetite suppressant. It may also raise your ghrelin level which causes you to be hungrier. Try going to bed a few minutes earlier. You might also try setting your alarm so that you can only hit the snooze button once not three times before rising. Taking ten minutes at night to locate you purse and keys, plan breakfast and lay out your work clothes can buy you twenty minutes in the morning easily. Minutes you can use to get that slimming sleep.
