Training for 5K run, I should be able to do it no problem but just want to be more used to running 3 miles since I just recovered from flu and slacked off on working out lately.

Hello everyone
38 years old ,newbie to running...3x week for 12 weeks plus crosstrain .Im able to run 3 miles in 28 mins.My short term goal is 23 min for a scheduled 5k Dec 12. 2009.My long term goal is Marathon Dec 2010. Still working on my pace, varies day to day 9-13 range.Trying to improve on something i fell in love with late in life.Any tips or support is welcomed
