Don't Let Reports About Vitamins Being Harmful Scare You

Posted Oct 22 2008 4:37pm
I've been supplementing with vitamins for years. I never knew there was a difference except in price. Then I read about studies hereand here. I was scared and wondered if I really was shortening my life, the way the reports said I could. Then I learned the studies are done using synthetic ingredients. Many people believe the synthetic ingredients are where the possible danger and harm comes from. I learned I have options and can still take a multi vitamin that isn't filled with chemicals.

If you care about this, check your multivitamin bottle -
Pull out your bottle of daily vitamins.
Look at the label and see if you find any of these synthetic ingredients, e.g. Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) ( click here for many more ).

In medical studies, patients' use of synthetic Vitamin E, for example, resulted in increased rates of lung cancer, heart attacks and death.

Birth defects increase 400% -
Did you know that in one study reported in the New England Journal of Medicine, 22,000 pregnant women were given synthetic supplements, and birth defects increased 400%?

They had to halt the study.

Zoltan P. Rona, M.D., says that while a healthy person will not drop dead immediately after ingesting synthetic supplements, "the long-term consequences of continuous, daily intakes are potentially dangerous." Reactions, he reports, include fatigue, memory loss, depression, insomnia and potential liver disorders.
