Ginger Many people may not know but one item of your grocery list may be used to treat a few health concerns.

Ginger is generally used as a cooking spice in many cultures but it is also a very powerful herbal medicine.

People have been using ginger for the treatment of motion sickness and morning sickness for hundreds of years. Remember when you went fishing with your friends last summer? Remember how sick you felt on the boat? It might have been prevented if you had taken a ginger supplement prior the trip.

Ginger supplements can help treating abdominal bloating, vomiting and diarrhea. Many people have these symptoms when in motion, more noticeable when traveling by boat or plane. Long flights are known for causing nausea.

In addition, ginger is considered a tonic for digestive tract, stimulation digestion and internal muscles. Ginger tea has been recommended for years to relief stomachaches and indigestion. The herb has the capability of transporting substances through the digestive tract, lessening irritation to the intestinal walls, the usual cause of abdominal pain.

It may also support another common issue: osteoarthritis. Ginger is often found in combination with products to treat joint problems, such as glucosamine and msm.

Ginger chews may be added to your snack list. Generally a very spice treat, it may be a delicious alternative for your midday snack, keeping you away from high sugar candy or chocolate and promoting overall health.
