Night Sweats and Menopause

Posted Oct 22 2008 4:38pm
I never really knew when menopause started, probably because it happened about a year after my son was born. I just thought it was my body getting back to normal.
I didn't have a lot of problems with menopause except the night sweats. Since the night sweats would wake me often I felt tired all day. I felt like a bad mom when I had to tell my son I was too tired to play kick ball or take him to an amusement park. It helped some when I cut out coffee and tea but I didn't keep it up because I love a cup a cup of tea in the evening. I tried vitamins, I was overwhelmed with all the choices and never found ones that seemed to control the night sweats.

There are many things that claim to help with night sweats. I didn't have the time to research all of them. The herbal remedies I tried required me to take 4 pills a day and they were big enough to be a horse pill. I can't take that many pills a day, no matter how good they are for me. I do believe in using herbs but still didn't find a lot of relief for the night sweats.

I live in the frozen tundra of Minnesota so leaving a window opened was out of the question. My husband would wake up with frozen facial hair while I was still dripping with sweat. Then I tried this new whole food supplement and within a week I was sleeping all night and waking up with energy. I didn't have to wash the bedding every day. I could snuggle next to my husband without burning up.
