What walks have you participated in, and what inspired you?

Posted by Kristen D.

I've participated in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life for serveral years, as several members of my family have battled cancer. Now, I've been taking part in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light the Night walk, as someone very dear to me has survived one type of Lymphoma.
These are great events to encourage others to donate money to great causes-they'll know that someone is walking, or running, or riding, etc., in honor of them and their generosity, and in honor and in memory of those who have fought terrible diseases like cancer.
What events have you participated in? How did you find out about them? What did they involve?

I recently participated in a March of Dimes walk at Crissy Field in San Francisco because my friend has been raising money and awareness for them for years. I have also done a few walk/runs with small organizations supporting women. Charity walks are a great way to give and to receive.
