A solid weight loss plan

Posted Apr 11 2009 12:56am

Numerous psychological studies show that in order to successfully achieve a goal such as weight loss, you need to formulate a solid plan.

The plan must inolve not just a diet, but also a method for implementing the diet.

Dieting requires very careful attention and planning before you start. First, you need to anticipate critical situations. Then what is required is a plan you will be able to immediately put into motion when faced with such a situation.

In other words, you need to pre-think your diet process. It would go something like this: If such and such happens, then I will do such and such. The if-then plan makes a critical situation easier for you to detect and attend to.

You can pre-select your behavior and then run it off as you planned when needed. This is a reliable way for you to prevent a difficult situation from throwing you off your weight loss goal track.
