A weight loss solution for emotional eating

Tackling a problem over and over again with a solution that is not reaping success is a clear indication that you should change the solution.

Perhaps you've been trapped by your thinking. Maybe you're conditioned to see your weight loss solution as dieting alone. What if you can't lose weight as a result of simply going on a diet?

Let's reframe the problem of losing weight as a reversal of the problem of gaining weight. What can you say about weight gained? You didn't really want to gain so much, but you had no control over it too many times. You did the very things that you knew you shouldn't do. You ate and ate to feel better.

To tell the truth, it wasn't just with food that you were out of control. It was all those emotional situations in which you were "out of control" too. It may not have looked like it at the time, because you could eat over every one of the emotional times and stay in emotional control. Think about it. Were you really in emotional control if you used food to get you through?

So don't use a solution that doesn't solve the problem. If you're going to diet to bring your eating under control, make sure you combine your diet with an equally effective plan to bring your emotional life under better control as well.
