What happens when you cheat on your diet?

For many women, the hope switch gets instantly turned off. Then it's not the cheat that causes failure. It's the loss of hope.

Hope is fueled by the feeling of being capable, the idea that you can figure out what to do to get to you're goal and then do it. Maybe you stop believing you can do it if you cheat.

How totally wrong that is. The most important thing in any endeavor is not to do everything perfectly - that's impossible. The crucial movements come post- slip, or post- cheat, or post- fall off, whatever you want to call it. You can give up, which translates as failure - OR you can learn from the misstep, accept it as inevitable, and then get back to it, knowing a little more than you did before. Your choice.
