Fun-Filled Friday: Andréa Albright, Kellie Coffey, Obama, Crash, Roll, Bullock, Einstein, Cholesterol, Obaid

Posted Jun 05 2009 11:30pm

Getting a late start on this “Fun-Filled Friday” post, but better late than never. There’s always neat stuff to share with you, but today I think is extra special. Hope you enjoy!

First up is a video from a super-energetic woman named Andréa Albright who has gone through her own amazing weight loss transformation. I recently found her fabulous YouTube video series and invited her to be a guest on my podcast show coming later this year. Here’s one of her BEST videos that show you how much she cares and knows about the whole diet and health industry:

Thanks for sharing your experience with us Andréa. You truly are AMAZING! Speaking of amazing and switching gears a bit, have you heard that song by Kellie Coffey called “I Would Die For That” about the deep, heartfelt desire to have kids. As one-half of a couple dealing with infertility after our failed IVF cycle in December 2007, this song just spoke to me in ways I’ve never felt from a song before. If you’ve ever been dealt the hand of not being able to have children of your own, then I hope you are encouraged and uplifted by this remarkable song.

The sight of those people holding the signs will never leave my thoughts. What a song! One of the biggest news stories of the week was President Barack Obama’s visit and speech to Cairo, Egypt to address “the Muslim world.” Regardless of your opinions about President Obama, I hope you take the time to listen to this nearly one-hour speech he gave entitled “A New Beginning” to hear what he believes is needed to bridge the gap between the United States and Muslim community. Is this the duty of the leader of the free world to attempt to accomplish or is it merely a futile game to think Muslims are even interested in coming together with the Western world? You decide.

I’m not sure what the media’s fascination is with old people crashing their vehicles through a store, but I’ve seen it reported on more and more. Are they trying to get the public worked up about it so that senior citizens will no longer be allowed behind the wheel? Is having an advanced age even a factor when it comes to getting a driver’s license? If so, then what should the cutoff point be? I personally don’t think age is relevant as long as the driver is still competent enough to perform the requirements to drive. Once the faculties are gone, then it’s time to yank their driver’s license. What say YOU?

Wanna hear a really weird, yet sad story? A 42-year-old woman named Ava Maria Gordon has been accused of (GET THIS!) stabbing her 62-year old father Greg Gordon to death over (HOLD ON TO YOUR HAT!) a dinner roll! Yep, this domestic dispute turned deadly when the daughter got angry over her dad snagging the last of the high-carb dinner rolls on the supper table and she stabbed him multiple times. Here’s one news account of the story followed by this video with the defendant standing before the judge to be held accountable for her actions (look at her lack of remorse about this!):

You know how I often say that actors and actresses in Hollywood know all about the benefits of livin’ la vida low-carb, but just don’t tell anyone about it? Well, Sandra Bullock is blabbing this dirty little secret about how she slimmed down for her latest movie called The Proposal starring opposite Ryan Reynolds. In this Fox News story about Bullock stripping down naked in this new film, she admitted she knew what to do: “Go to the gym, cut out the carbs!” Well, how do you like that? This movie is coming out June 19, 2009 and check out this bloopers clip about it. Too cute!

Have you met Einstein the talking bird yet? This is INCREDIBLE! How did they train this bird to make all those noises? WOW!

Cholesterol is READY for a comeback and here’s how it will happen:

HA! Gotta love the Star Wars feel to that one, right? Finally I have one of the biggest idiots on YouTube named Obaid Karki (you might remember this blog post where he described the Atkins diet as “crap” and that he was glad Dr. Atkins was dead). This nut job pretends that he knows a lot about weight loss and health, but he falls woefully short of living in the real world with stunts like this about how to burn more calories:

Oooooookay, that was certainly interesting! That’s it for this “Fun-Filled Friday,” but I’m so glad you dropped by my blog today. Send me your contributions to future FFF posts anytime by writing to livinlowcarbman@charter.net.
