Hey everyone and thanks for visiting my blog here on this “Fun-Filled Friday.” The weather’s changing outside and we’re just about ready to hop feet-first into the holiday season in just a few short weeks. Can you believe it? If you’re worried about packing on the pounds between Christmas and New Year’s, then be sure to sign up for my November 19, 2009 TeleClass for tips on surviving the holidays the livin’ la vida low-carb way! And the long wait for my brand new book 21 Life Lessons From Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb is almost over…more details coming soon! Let’s go ahead and take the plunge into what I have for you in this week’s post.
I have to start with the tragic shooting that happened at Fort Hood Army base in Killeen, Texas on Thursday. Here are the remarks by President Barack Obama late yesterday about this:
What a very sad turn of events. But 20 years ago, something pretty amazing happened that I think is worth celebrating in 2009…and I’ll never forget this moment in history for the rest of my life that took place on November 9, 1989 when I was just a freshman in college — the Berlin Wall comes crashing down!
What a momentous event in the history of the world! It was a celebratory symbolic gesture of the official end to the Cold War. There is also another big anniversary of something momentous that happened 40 years today when characters like Big Bird, Oscar, Bert & Ernie, and the gang of Sesame Street burst on the scene. Here’s the original 1970’s opening theme song:
I especially loved the Bert & Ernie segments because the dynamics between these two characters is amazing! Here’s a sample of what I’m talking about:
HA HA HA! I bet baby Rex loves Sesame Street almost as much as he loves beef!
That’s one smart baby and a future low-carber! Let’s hope he doesn’t grow to be like this little four-year old boy who called 911 to help him with his math problems. Get a load of how the mom reacts when she realizes what he’s done! An instant classic!
But mommy, you said if I ever needed help to just call 911! That’s too funny. Hey, he might even grow up to do something as ridiculous as this:
Oooookay! Cute, though. Speaking of adorable, one of my Facebook friends shared with me that her 11-year-old son was looking over her shoulder while she was on Facebook and he saw my name. She told me he started spontaneously singing the hit song by Britney Spears called “Gimme More.” She said he thinks I should consider making it my own personal theme song. Hee hee! “Jimmy Jimmy Moore, Jimmy…Jimmy Jimmy Moore.” Here’s a popular remix of that song mashing Britney’s with T.I.’s “Bring ‘Em Out.” What’s really freaky is I had a good friend in high school who always used to call me “Gimme More.” LOL!
Well, I can’t be the only one in the Moore household with a theme song, so Christine’s gonna get one, too! This one’s actually kinda creepy.
Bwhahahahaha! That’s just scary. And on that note, we’ll wrap up this edition of “Fun-Filled Friday.” As always, if you see something you think might be appropriate for a future post, then I’d love to see it. E-mail me anytime at livinlowcarbman@charter.net. Enjoy your weekend everybody!
