how to get higher metabolism?

Posted by Bo H.

My metabolism is very low that's why no matter how little I eat, I still gain weight. I try to workout more, but which way is faster to help building high metabolism and losing weight faster? So far I've been trying to eat vegi only at night and jogging for about 1hr a day for 3 weeks. Only lost 4lbs! All advices are welcome. Thanks.

According to everything I've read and my own personal experience, it's to eat enough food.

A common mistake is to eat too little while exercising, causing your body to become much more efficient, going into starvation mode. Talk to someone about how many calories you should be eating to maintain weight and lose weight and then make sure you eat that much. It might seem like a lot, but if you eat good foods and continue exercise you should see the lbs start coming off.

Good luck!

I always recommend to my clients eating small meals & snacks spread throughout the day. And ALWAYS eat breakfast to kick-start your metabolism in the morning. Of course, other things interfere with metabolism such as medical history, medications and supplements. If everything is "in check" medically (e.g., thyroid functioning properly), I find many clients are not eating enough early in the day and then eat large dinners and snack all night long. It is important to try and eat every 3-4 hours, small meals & snacks, to keep your metabolism going. Especially when you are exercising! Keep in mind the longer you go without eating, when you are finally ready to eat, you may choose the wrong foods and overeat.

I'm with the guys. You need to eat small meals regularly to fuel your body. Also add some weight training to your regime. Try to eat at least 1200 calories per day. More if you're working out a lot. Anything else is self defeating.

Yeah it's definitely important to keep your metabolism churning - Read this
