But excited!
I have a date. With Sarah G. and the Running Room troops on Wednesday night! That is provided that personal trainer at the gym doesn't book me in for that time since her schedule seems to be nuts this time of year. Sarah says that it's the Running Room's 10 year anniversary here in Halifax and that everyone is invited to show up and go for runs in groups, even if you're not a RR member. I told her I was nervous about it because I'm not "a runner" at all and I'd be that tag along wannabe who's lagging behind needing all of these breaks! Then she stroked my ego a bit and was so sweet. She said: "I understand why you'd be nervous - but trust me, nobody, not even for one minute, will look at you and think "she's not a runner, what's she doing here?" All levels and all abilities belong to the Running Room - they're all just people who want to run and who love to run, and you already fit into that group! I don't think you know how hard I pushed you that first night we went out - I mean, you went from almost never running outside before to running nearly 5kms! And while you took some breaks, there were very very few of them; and I take a 1 minute walk break every 10 minutes anyway, so we were pretty much right on track! You kicked ass that night - and you can do it again, no problem. I hope you can make it Ang, because you're going to love it. No matter what, you'll have me cheering you on and we can take as many breaks as you need :) Here's hoping she fits you in tomorrow! -SG" Isn't she the friggin best! Sarah, you made me feel so good! Thank you so much! It's hard sometimes to step out of that comfort zone. I'm actually hoping now that the trainer doesn't want to book me in for Wednesday and in fact, if she does, I might just tell her that I can't do the session on Wednesday...yeah! I'm BUSY cause I'm going runnin' with the Running Room! Holla! (wow I am INDEED a dork!) It'll kinda be like this and I'll be waaaaaaaaaaay in the back of the train! ![]() |
