At this week’s meeting, we learned a little bit about the new Weight Watchers Momentum plan, which is sort of a FLEX/CORE hybrid. I think I’m going to like it.
For starters, we’re going to get all new plan materials. I am so all for getting new materials of any kind. I LOVE getting new booklets and stuff to read! I’ve now been a member for just over a year (my anniversary date was 11/28/2008, and it’s been quite some time since I’ve had new stuff to take home. Yes, I will readily admit that I’m a materials junkie!
Another important feature is the focus on eating more of what they’re calling “filling foods”, aka CORE foods, while tracking POINTS and your Good Health Guidelines. I think this is really great for FLEX folks like me, who may eat within our POINTS for the day, but might not eat the most “filling foods” with those POINTS.
Those members who have eTools have been given a bit more info about the changes. One of the other neat changes is that now all liquids count towards your 6-8 glasses. Granted, this doesn’t mean that you’ll get the same results downing a case of Diet Pepsi as you would drinking 64 ounces of water a day, but now my daily 20 ounce hazelnut coffees will count as part of my liquid requirement! Can you say, “Yeah, baby!”?
