A stupid day called yesterday! Well, yeah---it most certainly was. But I think I handled all the
crappyness a lot better than I have in the past. Just taking it easy, my friends. Easy.
This morning I worked out with my lifting partner of course, cause that's
whatcha gotta do if you wanna get FIT. Then, I went with my roommate to a hidden gem in Minneapolis for lunch called China Jen. The mini juicy steamed pork buns and the
wonton soup were reminiscent of some of the real stuff I tried in China and Taiwan. The food was
aaammazingly super
alrighty! I'm definitely going back there in the near future.
There was a super super Target across the street from China Jen, so we decided to make a
pitstop for some groceries after lunch. In the frozen foods section there was a
cowtacular selection of ice cream. And guess what they had??? Edy's Thin Mint ICE CREAM! I HAD to buy it because I saw it somewhere on the
internet (I think hungry girl), and oh my gosh is it delicious!
You know what? The weather outside was so nice today compared to the ice queen's horrible cold air attack that spread across all of the Twin Cities area earlier this week. Well, I had to go to the Electric Fetus (the coolest record store in town) to pick up some tickets for a show I'm seeing tomorrow at First Ave. I was going to take the bus to get there, but fortunately I missed it. I say fortunately because instead of waiting for the next bus, I decided to just start walking there.
And what a great decision that was guys! I dunno, but it felt spectacular and liberating in some way to just walk down the street and enjoy the fresh breeze of a spring that is almost here. It was just me and some TV on the Radio playing in the background. My knee started to hurt about ten minutes into the walk, but I didn't care because it was
fricken nice outside.
During my walk I visited two places before my knee started killing me, like a bee stinging me over and over again, at which point I had to get on a bus. The first place I went to was an
Aldi grocery store.
Woohoo! Their produce is
sooooooo cheap.
OMG a 2 pound bag of grapes for under three dollars??? What a steal! I realized I could have saved like 10 dollars a week on groceries if I went to
Aldi to buy some of my crap. So, that is what I'm going to do in the future. I also stopped at a bakery, and bought a wonderfully yummy cookie. I was going to get a cupcake, but they were like three bucks. I don't know anyone who would buy a cupcake for three dollars.
Jeeze! There were so many flavors though, like mint chocolate chip and red velvet cake. Who would have thought cupcakes could be so fascinatingly awesome in variety?
I am so excited for spring guys! It's gonna be great. I don't care if I have to take a thousand pain killers, my knee isn't gonna stop me from having an active lifestyle. I guess I'll buy a bike if I need too, but I REALLY wanna walk all over Minneapolis. It's time to discover the city I live in without the help of my Honda.
