Weight Loss Before and After

Here's why it's so hard for many people to maintain a weight loss.

Once you have given up your old eating habits in order to lose weight, life is very different. At the beginning of a diet, when you are excited and encouraged by getting thinner, you may not feel how different your life is. But when you reach your weight loss goal and it's back to life as usual, that's when you may experience a very real sense of loss.

Perhaps food had been your trusted friend. Now, at goal weight, when all the activity that goes along with losing has come to an end, there it is: no more constant companion to rely on.

In other words, it's human nature to miss your old eating habits. But missing them doesn't mean you need to return to them. And you won't return to them if you keep in mind that they might try to insert themselves back into your life most especially after you lose weight.

Be on the lookout. Pay attention and acknowledge the feelings of loss. See if you can truly say good-bye to your old eating habits, even though you may need to withstand these feelings of loss.
