Being "motivated" is a complicated factor in any weight loss solution.
Let's say you set your weight loss goal at dropping down two sizes. Fine. You are motivated to do that.
Then comes the hard part, which is discovering what will keep you moving toward your chosen goal. In other words, what will sustain your weight loss motivation enough to keep you trying to get there until you do get there.
If you want to lose weight, you'll need a plan to hold onto your initial weight loss motivation. Without this, you are not likely to persist.
One good thing to do to keep yourself striving for your weight loss goal is to continually reflect on the value for you of succeeding. How pleasant will it be to reach your goal? How will it affect your evaluation of yourself, your self-esteem? How will it affect other people's vision of you?
The desirability of being at a lower weight is a motivation booster, so remind yourself a lot. Keep a list in your mind of the rewards losing weight will bring to your life. It will help you when a more short-term desire (temptation) steps in and tries to take over - like having a decadent meal at a restaurant, or trying to deal with the stress and anxiety of the moment.
Staying motivated might even mean daily going over your wish to lose weight. It's not a hard thing to do, but it will have a positive effect on your weight loss motivation.
