Why shouldn't you diet when there is too much stress in your life?

Because coping with stress

  • puts demands on your limited energy
  • depletes your self control
  • causes a decrement in your performance
  • induces continual monitoring of the stressor
  • requires you to inhibit and alter your thoughts, feelings, and other mental faculties
