Anemia

I am a 51 year old women who has been having trouble with a low red cell count. I discovered this while trying to donate blood and after three months of not being able to, they suggested I go see my doctor. I have not had a period in six years and no visible signs of bleeding but my red blood count has dropped to 9.4.
I have just recently started experiencing the symptoms that go along with anemia, bruising (I have always bruised easily), fatigue and today, shortness of breath.
I thought I had a bladder infection so I went my Gyno last Thursday, the dip stick test showed slight bacteria in my urine so she prescibed an antiboitic. I called today because the pain has persisted and become worse. I had a hystorectomy six years ago or I would swear I am feeling the pain from ovalution, which was very painful due to fibroids and endemetrisis (sp). The pain radiates down my right side and lower back.
I called my doctor but have not heard back...any advice?
